Gogi, Camu and Carrot Smoothie

I love experimenting with various juices and smoothies. There are so many great blogs and websites that serve as inspiration for me. I was recently on the Navitas site and came across a great smoothie recipe that combined carrots, oranges and a superfood called camu camu powder. Camu camu is one of the richest sources of vitamin C. One small teaspoon contains about 60 times more vitamin C than an orange. I think it’s a wise idea to load up on food sources of vitamin C, especially during this time of year and in this climate. Camu also contains Beta-carotene, potassium and many amino acids. As a bonus, I like the fresh, tart taste it lends to smoothies and juices, and because a little goes a very long way, it’s an economical superfood.

As is typical with many of my recipes, it’s a combination of what I think will go well together and what I actually have on hand! This particular recipe takes a little bit of time, as it involves both juicing and blending, but I think the benefits are worth the effort.
